My Approach

I have worked for many years within specialist NHS services. This experience has shaped the way I now work in private practice: integrative, evidence-based, and individually tailored. No two people are the same. Rather than applying a “one-size-fits-all” model, I draw from different psychological approaches and adapt therapy to your specific needs, goals, and personality. This means we work together to understand not only symptoms, but the deeper patterns and experiences that may be shaping your current difficulties.

I integrate evidence-based psychological approaches based on a contemporary understanding of the mind. The therapies I integrate include:

  • Psychodynamic and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)
  • Sensorimotor Psychotherapy

Where helpful, I also incorporate neuropsychological perspectives to ensure treatment reflects a contemporary understanding of how the mind and brain interact.

Specialist Areas

People come to see me for many different reasons. Some of the areas I commonly work with include:

  • Social anxiety
  • Generalised anxiety
  • Agoraphobia (fear of leaving the home)
  • Phobias
  • Low mood and depression
  • Emotional responses to trauma
  • Shame and guilt
  • Low confidence and low self-esteem
  • Addictions
  • Body image difficulties
  • Difficulties managing emotions or mood
  • Relationship challenges
  • Identity difficulties
  • Adjusting to neurodiversity

This list is not exhaustive. I have experience working across a broad range of mental health presentations.

If you are unsure whether your concerns “fit” any category, please feel free to reach out. If I believe another clinician would better meet your needs, I will always offer guidance and referral within my professional network.
